Paul Dix grew up in Westminster, Maryland where he milked cows for neighboring farms in high school and college. He graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in animal science. He then worked for the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative as a field representative and a milk plant supervisor. He later moved to Western Pennsylvania and worked for Mid America Dairymen and Dairy Farmers of America during their merger. Paul switched over to regulatory as a milk sanitarian with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. His home state of Maryland later hired him as a milk sanitarian and eventually as a state rating officer. Paul served as the previous Steering Committee Chairman for 3-A Sanitary Standards, and enjoys speaking at the Pennsylvania State University Pasteurizer Course.
